When is a permit required? Each city and town have their own processes. We've compiled the resources for you below.

Dallas has plenty of unique spaces in and around the city to host your next creative project. But before you start setting up the tripods and unleashing your drone fleets, we advise that you run through a few of the local rules and regulations

We understand that the Dallas area has much to offer and you may film outside our city limits.  Each city or town has their own rules and procedures.  To make it easier, we have compiled a list of contacts and links to each.

Drone Usage

Per FAA Policy Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UVAs) or drones are not permitted in Class B Airspace which encompasses the entire downtown Dallas area and beyond. UVAs, drones and model aircrafts with cameras attached are strictly prohibited in Class B Airspace unless granted a waiver from the FAA.  An appropriate FAA pilots license is required when using drones for filming in order to be considered for a waiver.

Prison Break

An innocent man is framed for the homicide of the Vice President's brother and scheduled to be executed at a super-max penitentiary, thus it's up to his younger brother to save him with his genius scheme: install himself in the same prison by holding up a bank and, as the final month ticks away, launch the escape plan step-by-step to break the both of them out, with his full-body tattoo acting as his guide; a tattoo which hides the layout of the prison facility and necessary clues vital to the escape. - IMDB (Photo credit: Fox Television Studios)
