Local film spotlight: MANOS DE ORO
Fresh off of an impressive film festival run, Dallas-based Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences alumnus, Merced Elizondo, has released the official trailer for his latest short: MANOS DE ORO. Celebrate the film at its upcoming screening at the Dallas Museum of Art on Sept.16.
Additionally, the film has been acquired by Argo, the streaming service housing the best short films from around the world and curated by the top film festivals. The film is available globally on the streaming service now.
Apply for this Fall Film Grant!
The 2022 Fall Roy W. Dean Film Grant for indie filmmakers is now accepting applications. The grant is awarded to a unique film that makes a contribution to society. The recipient will receive $3,000 and thousands more in film services to help complete their project. The deadline for submissions is Oct. 31.

Introducing the NEW Dallas Hotel Rebate Incentive
If your TV, film, music video, commercial, still photography or interactive project will be filming in Dallas and you are booking at least 15 Dallas hotel room nights, you could qualify for this incentive.

Dallas 48 Hour Film Project
The 48 Hour Film Project is a contest in which teams of filmmakers are assigned a genre, a character, a prop, and a line of dialogue. Teams who sign up have 48 hours to create a short film containing each of those elements. There are virtual mixers every week and seventeen teams have already signed up!
Women in Film Dallas Symposium 2022
Women in Film Dallas is excited to bring together professionals from many areas of our local media production industry for a three panel discussion event focusing on some of the most important issues facing us today.
Dallas International Film Festival
The Dallas International Film Festival is back! Dallas’ premiere film festival kicks off on Oct. 14 at Alamo Drafthouse Cedars. Stay tuned for the full lineup announcement very soon. Passes are on sale now.
Topaz Film Festival
For 21 years, Women in Film Dallas has provided a platform for independent female filmmakers to promote their work through its annual film festival. The Topaz Film Festival is back in 2022 and will kick off on Oct. 20. The full lineup is out now, so head to their site and take a look at the schedule.

Breaking Par – See Breaking Par play a game of Urban Golf where they hit golf balls off the top of Reunion Tower with pro golfer Cassie Meyer, Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence and former Texas Rangers player Ian Kinsler.
