Local Spotlight
Film Soup - We're thrilled to share that filmmaker collective WATCHALE won the Narrative Shorts Grand Jury Prize at this year's Slamdance Film Festival in Park City for their film, The Sidewalk Artist. As a proud supporter of their work, we're excited to promote their upcoming screening event, Film Soup. Film Soup is a community event that will take place on April 22 and will feature a screening of local films, live music, vendors, and the North Texas premiere of The Sidewalk Artist. Hosted by Tejano filmmakers, this event is a celebration of the diverse and vibrant DFW art scene. We're proud to be a part of it, and we hope you'll join us for this exciting evening.
Hayley Morrissey - Hayley Morrissey, a music producer based in Dallas, with a focus on melodies and a deep appreciation for folk music, has just released her latest album, "Call Me When You Wake Up." The album follows her previous records, "Strangers" and "This Is Where It Ends," and is now available for streaming on Spotify. "My songs often combine vulnerable subject matter with soaring cinematic melodies, emphasizing one of my favorite truths in life: all of our experiences are beautiful because they lead us to where we're meant to be," said Hayley.
KD Studio & Conservatory College of Film and Dramatic Arts - On March 25, the KD Studio & Conservatory will be hosting a workshop for those aged 16 or older who are considering pursuing a career in acting, performance, or filmmaking. This workshop will provide free training and information-packed sessions to introduce attendees to the world of film and theater and to showcase the value of the institution's Associates of Applied Arts programs.
