Logline: When a guarded young woman signs up for an exclusive dating service, she finds herself trapped in a surreal and intense experiment designed to test the depths of her capacity for love. Summary: "Small Talk" is a mind-bending psychological drama that explores the depths of human connection and the barriers we build around our hearts. When Nadia, a guarded 30-something woman, agrees to a seemingly innocent coffee date through an exclusive dating app, she finds herself thrust into a surreal experiment. Trapped in a maze-like construct of her own fears and past traumas, Nadia must confront her deepest insecurities about love and vulnerability. As the lines between reality and illusion blur, she discovers that the only way to escape is to open herself up to the very thing she fears most: true connection. CAST BREAKDOWN: NADIA (Lead, Female, 30s): Nadia is a woman in her early 30s, with a sharp mind and a guarded heart. Nadia’s journey is marked by a struggle between her personal desires and the responsibilities imposed by her family. She is fiercely loyal to those she loves, often sacrificing her own happiness to protect them. However, underneath her composed demeanor lies a simmering desire for freedom and self-expression. Driven by an unyielding sense of duty, Nadia often finds herself at odds with the patriarchal values of her community, yet she possesses a quiet strength that allows her to stand her ground. JAKE (Supporting, Male, 30s): Charming and mysterious on the surface, Jake is a puppet in the grand experiment. The actor must be able to portray a charismatic and likable persona that gradually reveals underlying manipulation and artifice. This role requires shifting between seemingly genuine connection and more mechanical, programmed behavior as Jake's true nature is revealed. THE SCIENTIST (Supporting, ALL GENDERS, 50s): The mastermind behind the experiment, the Scientist is the epitome of a narcissist who believes he is trying to save the world. This character should exude an otherworldly quality and unsettling intensity.
