From Super Bowl commercials to feature films, Dallas is the hub for Film and Television. The city continues to cultivate a thriving creative scene that produces quality, critically acclaimed, and internationally recognized work. Airdates of Local Projects
- DEEP FRIED DYNASTY – A&E’s new series premieres Tuesday, March 8 at 9 p.m.. It’s all about the big personalities behind the mouth-watering food at the State Fair of Texas.
- RISING: THE STORY OF THE HALL OF NEGRO LIFE – KERA, March 25 at 7 p.m.. In the middle of the great depression, African Americans received the opportunity to tell their story at a world’s fair— in Texas. Southroad Pictures, Directed by King Hollis and Lindell Singleton.
- SUPER GIANT ROBOT BROTHERS – Netflix, 2022. Animated action-adventure television series produced by Reel FX Creative Studios, a Dallas based company. Two squabbling robot brothers battle bloodthirsty kaijus, supernatural disasters and mundane personal issues as they adapt to the trials of growing up.
Dive into Dallas Film History
The Texas Archive of the Moving Image will feature Don Stokes on tonight’s Archive Dive. Stokes, founder of Post Asylum, will talk about his career and family history in the local industry. Tune in tonight, February 24 at 6 pm CT on Facebook Live, YouTube Live, and Twitch, to join the discussion.
We Made the List
MovieMaker Magazine has announced its list of Best Places to Live and Work as a Moviemaker in 2022, with Dallas coming in at No. 15! Dallas is an “ultra-modern, sophisticated city known for a gleaming skyline and a mixture of architectural styles.” From Cruel Summer on Hulu and Freeform to Netflix’s Love is Blind and many other productions, crew members have many benefits to working and living in Dallas.
Late Night Debut
Local singer, songwriter and musician Joshua Ray Walker made his late night debut on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon when he performed the swaggering “Sexy After Dark.” Many took notice of his talent, including Rolling Stone who called him “country music’s most fascinating young songwriter.”
